WvW Quality of Life Requests

Hey folks!

As you know, the World Restructuring plan we've been discussing is a fairly long term project. While we work on that, we might have a bit of bandwidth here and there to do some minor QoL stuff.

We'd love your input on what you'd like to see. If we see an idea here we like, we'll get it on the backlog. No guarantee we get to it in a timely manner (or at all, for that matter), but I'd like us to have a nice list of community requests to pull from, should we find the time.

    Bring crafting stations back.

    Limit Presence of the Keep and other objectice auras to only inside an objective.

    Increase players' base health pools in WvW.

    Can we just do away with armor repair in wvw? There is already the penalty of being ported back to a wp without the added running over to the repair heart and then running across the map to get back on tag. Its an annoyance but people will do it rather than buy a repair canister.
    I'm ok with the short downed penalty with a cool down. that is fair.

    Also losing seal stacks on a map jump is a pain. I get losing them on death. That is reasonable, even just a "downed" is a bit much to lose stacks on but I'll suck it up if we can at least swap wvw maps and not lose stacks when answering an emergency waypoint call.

    I'm not sure what the new dynamics of wvw will be like, but at this time being fluid and able to flip maps fast to defend objectives is part of the excitement of wvw. Using seals is a choice (true), but do those that offer a stacking attribute have to have so many penalties? They don't stack with other seals (fair), You lose the stacks on a down, death, and map switch. If they are so game breaking that they need so many penalties lets just remove them altogether or trim back a tad on the penality and take some of the tedium out of using them? Just my 2 cents.

    Some kind of delay on consumables (like the one you put on reaper shroud so people don't click out of it too fast) cos whenever I get lag it ends up double clicking cos I have no idea if the first click worked and I ended up wasting many expensive food/utils this way. Fixing lag would fix that problem though :P

    No that still takes too much time. I meant a button that will immediately load up your other pre-saved build when out of combat. Like how you can click the weapon swop button to swop weapon. Ofcourse you would still need to go create that build in your build window beforehand and save it first. Multiple buttons with multiple build slots would be awesome but I'm getting a little greedy now.

    Dungeon Token reward chests from the track should stack, same as the weapons. Also make us set a default reward track. (probably for PVP to)

    PVP Pip rewards have grandmaster reward tokens. Could this be added to WvW as well?

    Defending and guardian objectives, should be more rewarding.

    Increase the defences on keeps and towers. Its way to easy to capture them with a big blob. t3 keeps and towers can take hours to complete and be take within 2-5 mins by a server blob.

    Discourage server blobs. All you see is sea of red circles on the ground in a fight. Perhaps its fun for the loot orientated players.

    World ability points have no use after you have maximized all the abilities. Let us spend them on (WVW) rewards.

    There is still to many terrain bugs for ranged players on the maps where you have no line of sight.

    Most keeps and towers have a small ledge on the walls, where you have stand on before you even can hit the attacking players. Kinda silly for ranged players you can't shoot over it.

    Ranged Guards shoot trough walls.

    Can't think of anything else atm :)

    SEM for own team

    As I suggested in the PvP forum, you could activate the Standard Enemy Models for your own team, too. And while you’re at it, please fix the male Thief anomaly.

    no SEM & Team Colour for own character

    It would also be nice, to add a checkbox for Team Colour and SEM, so they will apply to everyone but your character. It gets easy for me to analyse the battlefield, if every player is coloured the same and/or uses the Standard Models. But I would also appreciate it, if my character stays untouched – with his/her original colouring and race/model/aura. :3

    I have to agree on build templates. That would be very welcome along with a 4 slot weapons toggle like the old gw.

    • Auto consume testimony of heroics when bought, and any other currencies that drop that may have been missed.
    • I know its allot of work but more often WvW/PvP balance updates(instead of 4 times a year maybe 6-7 times a year).
    • Legendary WvW trinkets added.
    • More things to spend ability points on. Maybe even roll it into the mastery section on the hero panel.
    • Once WvW restructuring happens we'll need alliance chat for callouts on defense and whatnot.
    • More cosmetic than anything but maybe make it so alliances can have an alliance symbol for some of my thoughts below.
    • Craftable alliance armor, maybe make it a unique ascended skin, or even legendary.
    • Unique alliance buffs, maybe more pips or something, or the same buffs as guild buffs but you can have a guild buff and an alliance buff at the same time (looking at WxP and WvW reward track progression at the same time).
    • We have guild siege, what about alliance siege.
    • Make it so we can visit our alliance's guild halls (like original GW).
    • +1 for the Asurpults.

    A cool event week every month (or last/first week of relink) that doesn't affect gameplay too much. Plz.

    Stuff like:

    • Halloween skinned EB with zombies spawning from killed enemies(usable every year)
    • Lords that shoot gifts around when killed + Christmas tree at spawn (usable during christmas)
    • Super Speed week (gain 2 seconds of super speed every 10 seconds)
    • Blast Blast Blast! Week (Whole map is a waterfield!)
    • Fast Fingers (You take double damage while under crowd control)
    • Weapon up. (spawn has weapons to choose from. they replace your current weapon skills but you can keep utilities etc.)
    • Mount Week (mounts available in WvW this week!!!!)
    • What was that? - Week. (Stealth fountains available outside keep and tower gates also! Can be used for both attacking and defending thus theyre outside! )
    • D U N E R O L L E R (every keep and tower capped spawns with 1 dune roller inside it that lasts 15 minutes)
      These are easily programmable ideas (Except the halloween map) that came from top of my head and I am sure you can come up with a few dozen more ;)

  • Team Colouring for gliders

    Could you colour everyones gilders in Team Colours, too – if activated? This way, I don’t have to look at those Hot Pink coloured gliders anymore. :s

    Other games have things like this.. This would be an awesome addition to WvW. Having sets and builds for roaming, havoc, team fighting, and being able to swap builds on the fly to adapt to the play style you want to do in the next moment would be a wonderful addition!

    Just another WvW lifer who'll never say die... while dying again and again!

    • i would love to have less 'no valid path to target' pretty much any stairs or bridge in WvW will cause them, you cant teleport through most open walls and some gates, many destroyable walls will cause this massage while standing on them.
    • less invisible objects that you somehow can attack. every WP or EWP if you hit in that area you will not just get infight but if you are invisible you get revealed( also for not existing WPs and EWPs at their position), same for supply depos and some random areas openfield like between X refuge camp and Xbriar tower on alpine map. if you could actually reduce supply by attacking the supply depot i would be fine with that.
    • i would also like the downstatedebuff to be changed that a new stack would set all stacks to 1 min. so if i down someone within 1 min again he will keep the stacks. main reason for this is when roaming i mostly have to fight groups of 3+ people, so i need to assume from the start they will fail to rez and alot of groups basically get carried by downstate without being able to do anything other productive then ressurecting. with the amunt of procs and passives it is really hard to down someone outnumbered 4 times within one minute but if i had 1 minute for every downstate, that sounds doable. this could be a WvW only change as the penalty already doesnt apply to PvP according to wiki and i dont care for it in PvE.

    read this, become a better player now.

    1. Alliance chat:that would be seen wherever you are at unless you de-select the channel.
    2. World chat: to allow for changing communication within the worlds as matchups and worlds change.

    Would help to foster community within the game since current servers are dying.

    Would also allow for call outs for help if people are in other areas. (PvE etc)

    Spam rules for chat would be a little higher. Suppressed would have to come quickly... like two messages every 5 minutes or something,

    Push hotfix patch 4 hours after eu reset not 1h50 into it. If that patch breaks the game is your not our fault that you will have to work overtime to fix it

    Lol..., so costing them more dollars is QOL but the other posts aren't?

    Hot fixes are just that... a hot fix.

    This belongs in OS if anything. They do not belong in the main areas, there were times when crafting stations had 20+ people doing nothing helpful at spawn.
