Have I found the new revenant legendary hero ?

Hi guys,

I have one theory for the new legendary hero regarding the new revenant new specialisation.

At first when looking at this image, I was thinking about the color of the character : blue and red.

It reminded me about the duality and the color of the Luxon and the Kurzik.

I was looking for a character from the Luxon or Kurzik clan who could be represented by this image.

I kept searching in my head and tried to remind me of the different characters. When I suddenly reminded myself about their elite dungeons : Kanaxai and Urgoz.

And wait… Kanaxai ??

Look at the kneeling image's sword. Its far more elaborate than Kanaxai's weapon.  You wont see any easterners use such a brutalist appearance as what Kanaxai uses.  They take pride in their swordsmithing yaknow?

Kanaxai has been mentioned a bunch of times already in the other threads, even before the teaser.

 

Personally, I don't see it, in fact I think the teaser image made it less likely, because Kanaxai's double axes were his signature weapons, and he has nothing to do with blue flames. His gw1 skillset also doesn't have anything to draw a playstyle from, so he would purely be used as a namedrop for nostalgia points.

 

And I don't follow your logic. You mention blue and red, which have nothing to do with Kanaxai, the duality of Luxon and Kurzich when Kanaxai was purely a Luxon boss. Anyway, feel free to join us in the Silhouette thread.

Who really made this picture? It was just a dark silhouette, was it's contrast raised? Was there any trickery to it? It's been shared to me before with no other convincing point that it's on an Anet marketing picture.

Partially Mistshard maybe?  Boots kind of look like it to me.  The rest I have no idea though, but the helm is probably new

I'm really not sure myself.

My best guess is that the headpiece is the new specialization collection piece.

Gauntlets look similiar to bounty-hunter https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bounty_Hunter's_armor_(heavy)

The rest is really hard to recognize in this silhouette, could be a completely new set (just like Harbinger and Virtuoso?).

The thing is, its overall armour (boots, legs, groin plate) seem to be components of the Shadow Assassin outfit, and the gloves don't appear to have spikes along the back of them like the Bounty Hunter's (Heavy) gauntlets not at elbow. The shoulders as well I see a lot of people say that "Oh, definitely heavy" yet I can't find a single Heavy Armour piece with shoulders that look close to that style barring maybe female Avenger's, and even then it's doing some mind-gymnastics to make it fit.

If you look at past elite specialisation images, too, matching to a set as well as the Willbender image did is the exception rather than the rule.

What if those pictures are there to show new weapon skins instead of promoting e-specs? I find it a bit strange that the weapons aren't "shaded".

I can't seem to recall any grawl in cantha and associating GS to a grawl somehow feel wrong, thought... Well, the devs want to break the rules, so, maybe, anything can happen.

 

Personally, I'd prefer the e-spec to be inspired by either the asura's racial skills. I think the asura racial skills fit well with the canthan technology.

The only social media I even bother to look at is Facebook. And I rarely look at that. And yet I saw this post from Anet the day it came out simply from being on the internet and having an interest in GW2.

 

Again, for someone who likes to act like they are some sort of expert on Revenant, you seem to know very little of current events surrounding the profession. Lol.

In fairness, I get missing it on Twitter but you're quite active on the forums and there's literally a 7 page thread on this and the Tweet gets shown on the bottom or side of the forum page so that's a bit bizarre.

 

Anyway, at least you've seen the pic now I guess 🤷🏼‍♂️

 

On a side note, Shao, I cant easily find your stream details, everyone says you're excellent with hammer, I'm only having some mild success with it bit would like to improve, I play a fair bit more Hwrald in OW because of the movement speed so want to be good with our ranged weapon there (and potentially in EoD), please can I get the link? Can you not turn this thread into another childish hate propagation? Thanks. I care less than you do, that's just how it is, you're buying into the hype, good for you. Looking up at elite specs have been in the far corner of my head since the very start and first beta didn't do much to help anything, I tried Willbender for 5 minutes and didn't touch anything else.

 

I don't think nor care that much to follow suit, it's not just Revenant, it's the whole marketing. I only know of this thing because my discord has shared me topics and images. Eventually people started posting about it and then again I didn't read but post small out of place ideas from the last things I saw which is not a twitter sourced link, just a picture with colors over an already existing one.

 

I bought EoD because I know I'll play it, the rest can be found out about later.

Though I hope that's the revenant with a GS, it could also be a new thief, or even elementalist picture, and the blindfold is actually just an expansion-themed headband. Probably unlikely, but they do seem to want to create a lot of suspense, and questions around the new specs, more so that usual.
