OP's complaining about how almost every piece of medium armor (among many others) is a coat or has a long "tail" of cloth attached to the waist - a "cape" for your behind. A covering for your tush. A modest but luxurious sweeping cloak for hiding your hindquarters. i.e., a buttcape. It is endemic. This style does nothing to accentuate our characters physique and makes them look plain silly in many cases.
