Hiding in spawn when lose - ruining WvW play

While there are some very strong sservers out there who capture all the keeps on eb, it is not ok to just quit and hide in spawn. Servers refuse to come out to fight just hide in spawn are ruining content in WvW and there should be a big fat penalty for this behavior.

There should probably be a big fat penalty for spawn camping behavior too, cause that ruins even more content for other people too. 🤷‍♂️

...You can't penalize someone for not playing. If your team is stuck in the spawn, it's because the enemy is overpowering and your team knows they're just going to die if they try. This is kind of a fundamental flaw with WvW, where you can tier-up an enemy's Keep, give it Tactic upgrades, and stack it with so much siege that it's impossible for them to get it back until people get bored and leave. If Anet can't change the mechanics, then the farming behavior is what needs to be penalized, not the ones being farmed. Maguuma is really the only server that abuses this style of play.

What is missing are tactivators at spawn which when pulled cause air strike on spawnarea that one shots all spawncampers.

that is missing content

We already had guards that instakilled anyone getting too close.

Anet removed it because reasons.

Legendary Defenders?  Still there....

Remember when you used to be able to stealth past them and hang out inside someone's spawn instead of getting teleported?

Spawncampers aren't the problem.  If they weren't there, they'd still outnumber you somewhere else.  Feel free to slip out the side doors and try to take a camp.

The problem is population.  There's a million threads on this, over the years.  It's not just T1, it's different servers at different times of day - when their group of 10+other puggers go to take a keep, the 3 of you who happen to be around have no real chance.

Spawn campers are playing the game properly, they are insisting on pvp in a pvp map. People hiding in spawn doing nothing are refusing to play, and are the ones ruining content. When this is primetime on a "high" pop NA server it is not a population issue, it is a 'players dodging fights' issue.

Two things make me fall asleep in this game if I spend too much time doing them: mindless ktraining and mindless spawncamping.  I really don't understand how some players are able to perform such grinds.  It's interesting for maybe 30m, but hours at a time?  Ugh.

10 years ago people understood this already, if you want people to come fight you need to let them come fight. If you are zerging a spawn point you are the one that isn't looking for a fight, you are looking to use 50 to kill 5. Maybe try another map or zerg less? And yes you don't need to be in a squad to still zerg, you just need vastly more numbers.

It's 2:45PM EST and right now BG is dominating the maps and has SMC, there are very few MAG on. In about 2 hours MAG starts logging on and they will crush the NA time zone per usual. THIS IS 100% A POPULATION ISSUE.

Few on or per the logic provided maybe they are a little too worried about their e-deaths and should be penalized for it seems to be the request being made. Not sure the OP considered the fact how server populations are calculated and assume they think its done per each time zone versus across all. Welcome to a 24 hour game I guess.

Isn't a population issue, it's a player attitude issue. If you outnumber spawncamp and then complain, its one of two things.

1) trolling attempt - at which point, well done, you've got some attention. Gold star, your mommy would be *so* proud.

2) Do something else

The idea of complaining that an entire game mode isn't *just* to your liking is peak snowflake karen boomer. Congrats.

On a more serious note. I do wonder if there should be logic in place on EBG that if a side loses their spawn towers and keep, portals are available that would drop them off into the corresponding NPC camps as alternate exits. Now granted a lot of people don't try the side exits but in EBG those are still rather close in to the main spawn. Ironically it seems they considered this if you use EoTM as having the most paths to exit followed by DBL and then even ABL has a larger exit area compare to EBG.
