hugo.4705
What are your opinions on the subject? Should we have more items like this one to summon pets? like wolf, cat and fox variants? Dunno if 500 is the right price, I was stupid to have spent my gems 2 days ago to buy my missing ls2 parts. I have 0 ideas about the functionnalities etc...I think it's great for your toons without pets (If you aren't playing ranger/ elementalist/ Necromant) (I considered elementals and minions as pets, should be named Imho)
Randulf.7614
The price was ok. Seemed a strange gimmick for the game though, but if it funds more content, it is unlikely to bother me. In fact I'd have prob gone against my feelings and bought if it was a german shepherd or an equally cool looking dog
Holykitten.3064
Don't care for that sort of 'toy' in my Novelties wardrobe. Hard pass for things like this.If other people like it, good for them.
TheQuickFox.3826
I noticed the dip in the gems to gold exchange last few days. This probably means the the new toy sold quite well.Anything that brings income to ArenaNet in a ways that does not negatively affect the game or the community is very welcome to me. That is my opinion.
Taygus.4571
I enjoyed having a dog in Fable..that would guide you to things.Or Nintendodogs, thats fun for the whole of 20minutes.But in this game, it's a strange edition, and I'd reckon has a short time of interest/fun.Plenty of other things I'd rather put my 500gems towards. So defintely not interested. Anyone else think yhe dog looks odd? kinda starved and twisty?
hugo.4705
Would say that cat looks weird too in that game... Dunno, flat face and a body like a sausage.
Blocki.4931
Dogs are awesome, but I am fine with coming back to my fox every now and then. Just wish he'd join us in the home instance.
killermanjaro.5670
I don't usually buy toys/novelty items (In fact I generally dislike them/find them irritating, and actually can't think of any toy/novelty item I've brought!), but this one I did drop some gems on. Sure there's some other upgrades I could have used them on, but I've been wanting some dogs in the game for a while as I don't have any interest in the cats in the game for the 'home' instance, and this looks like the nearest thing I'll get to a shiba. I'm sure I'll spend at least a few minutes playing with the dog each time I login.
kurfu.5623
It's just fine as a silly item. Anet does need to pay the bills, ya know.
Psientist.6437
I plan on getting the whistle. Need to get missing LW episodes first. Imo, Tyria needs more items encouraging players to be mundane Tyrians.

Danikat.8537
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pet_Dog_Whistle:_BasenjiThe whistle summons a dog which follows you around and does tricks on command. It has no practical use, it's just something to play with during quiet times.

Psientist.6437
Players moving through the topography of gem store pets could do real world work. Perhaps create a Tyrian analog for each real world animal in need of help, a NPC topography of animal rescue economics and a gem store topography of Tyrian animals. Link the money earned to support real world animal rescue. Why wouldn't there be dog parks in Tyria?

You asked why they wouldnt be dog parks, i mean look at the world of Tyria, even the smallest farms get attacked by swarms of bandits. I fail to see why that would mean not leaving a dog with me! Psientist.6437
Actually, dogs and pets are found in exploreable areas. I wouldn't complain if I could earn some narrative by socializing my dog.

Turkeyspit.3965
The only thing that makes me pause is that it's a novelty that replaces my action bar, vs a mini pet you can do tricks with. With Wintersday around the corner, I'm also hoarding as many gems as possible to see what goodies will be introduced.
Deimos.4263
I'd be surprised if this doesn't snowball into a pet-fest, considering how well mount skin cosmetics were received. I wish you could name them like ranger pets.
