Just make the health and defense buff baseline, because of course everyone is going to want the small 12 hr buff you get from randomly using them now. Which is like the inverse 'everyone wins' scenario they've been doing for years now. Yeah, it seems like one of those things that is intended to be a bonus, but they aren't thinking through how anyone who takes content seriously in WvW or PvE will now feel obligated to mash the Anvil every play session. So they go from being a feature on the way out to being an obligation again. Oh and it becomes another buff to take into account when balancing player power, which if balanced for makes it all the more of an obligation, especially in PvE where DPS checks exist. Might, fury, quickness, and alacrity all strongly define your ability to successfully tackle challenges in the game. We’ve also looked at fury and might access across professions and have introduced or increased sources of might, and we’ve changed several traits from self-only sources of fury to now share fury with allies. If ANet simply count the number of unique accounts logging to WvW over a two month period to determine population sizes for links etc, and there is now a buff in WvW that applies in PvE (making it essential for min max builds there too) did ANet just break/manipulate their own metric? The problem is the boons, which I thought I pretty clear about in my initial post. And now Anet wants to BUFF the boons and give more classes more access to boons.
