Legendary Weapon Starter Kits feel samey

Half of the new legendaries in every new kit so far have been also in the previous one. Should we just craft legendary weapons to sell for profit, or what's the plan?

the point is to give people an easy start to get a legendary weapon. if you farmed enough to have all gen 1 legendary weapons then go ahead. make more and sell them...makes them also cheaper on the TP. which makes them EVEN MORE accessible.

There's 16 terrestrial weapons in the game. I'm sure new players would appreciate being able to choose between all 16 over 4 seasons instead of the same 8 recycled over and over.

The legendary starter kits have repeated too many Legendary weapons . I was lenient with the first two as they were trying to focus on the expanded weapon skills for classes, but now we are on our fourth one and we have gotten nothing but repeats.

 

Where is Flameseeker? Where is Rodgert? The latter is the one weapon I need to complete everything, and yet why go for it naturally when there's a chance the next vault will have a kit containing the selection I need? I'm not waiting 4-5 more months until the next reset and if this scam continues I'm not buying your next expansion.

 

Calling you out devs. And I expect a 'Human' response, not a 'Corporate' or even a 'Bot' response.

Set 1: Bolt, Quip, Meteorlogicus, The Bifrost
Set 2: Bolt, Quip, The Moot, The Predator
Set 3: The Moot, The Predator, The Dreamer, Frostfang
Set 4: The Dreamer, Frostfang, The Juggernaut, Incinerator

So in total there's been 10 legendaries available across 4 sets, and it's been obvious since Set 2 came out that each one would be 2 new weapons and 2 repeats. The only uncertainty is which 2 new ones will be included (and longer term what they'll do once all the gen 1 weapons have been included).

A scam is when someone promises one thing and delivers something entirely different. No part of this is a scam, at no point did Anet say there would be no repeats.

P.S. Anet do not respond to rediculous rants and wildly inaccurate accusations. If you genuinely want someone from Anet to explain to you personally how the kits work you need to re-think your request.

If they start with 4 and swap 2 it should be at ... (I think the 4th "season" now) 10 now? (4+2+2+2) - with the next 3 seasons bringing the remaining stuff (maybe saving the underwater weapons for after that - should be 19, 16 +3 underwater I think.)

That's your baselessly made up theory. Meanwhile, they're just repeating 2 weapons and introduce 2 new ones each time. It's not really that complicated. Or surprising. Or having anything to do with being "scammed". 🤷‍♂️

Then they are free to start one the traditional way.  I'm curious at this point how many new players actually complain about this vs how many vets do.   It feels mostly like vet players complaining that they didn't get free stuff.

It might feel samey, it's a head start but you will still need the Gift of Exploration and Gift of Battle for Legendary 1 weapons (not sure if this applies to Leg 2 &3). Wvw doesn't take long to get Battle but I've explored Central Tyria 3 times now and I don't fancy doing it any more! Until I run low on gold I suppose!

I can't believe people are still bothered with gen 1 anyway. I guess I'm just old but I haven't bothered with gen 1 in over 6 years or so except to sell when I get a random pre to craft as a drop. Damned if ya do anet. Damned if ya dont.

I actually thought they would loop back to Meteorlogicus and The Bifrost then wrap it up at that, leaving the starter kits only including the weapons used in the SOTO weapon specialisations.

So I regard it as a generous outcome that they are obviously going to continue going through the gen 1 Legendary Weapons.

If the reason you bought the Soto expansion was to get half a gen1 leggy kit with a precursor valued at 19g then yeah, you probably do feel scammed.
You weren't scammed, for sure - but I can see how you led yourself down that road since you could've bought about 500g with your $25 instead and that's roughly what the pre & mats in the kit would cost. 
But that's still more closely aligned with gambling than being scammed since we were never told we would have the whole gen1 made available through the kits.

I like to complete legendary collection of the one I'm crafting... Wish anet had an option to choose bunch of mystic clovers and t6 gifts ... So I can leave out the precursor and get value from those starter kit

I can tell you where the true scam is.

Legendary Starter Kit prerequisite is Secret of the Obscure expansion. 
Is there any connection to SotO or any another expansion? Why should people buy SotO to get basic thing? I would understand if it demands upgraded account, but this, I dont know.
