What updates are you talking about? The mode is finished. It's PvP, balance patches and elite specs are your content. League of legends doesn't add anything else than balance and characters to their game. They don't even add maps. What else do you want??

Would be possible to get some clarification for this beta alliance?

Will we have to be again in 1 mutual guild, in order for multiple guilds to play together?

Isn't the idea of an "alliance" system is to have guild+guild+guild+filler pugs = alliance (x amount of people)

I believe they stated before that this test will not include alliances, so you will need to be in 1 mutual guild for this test.

The idea is to test the matchmaking system with the new system, hence the 2 week test.

Just to further make that point, this was the spring studio update:

We're still at the later part, because Anet didnt specify which part of the world this early to mid-summer was. Australia, presumably.

We do need to test the +1/-1 system with the random sorts for a multi-week test, that said I question the extra rewards as we do. On one hand, do the dime spend the time, I appreciate the thought, on another I appreciate the extra players for a test, on last how many are out just for the extra which adds factors in were the relinks successful or just loot bait. Go round and round. Agree testing is needed though so +1 from that.

I love the part of  "some backend work".
A small... but not... fudge it.

Update client a tiny bit, behaviour of log in-server and/or overall network performance against so called ThereCanOnlyBeONeLagIn server - aka LagInServer
Use more frigging BDC's and add at least another PDC, in EU + NA + Australia-part of world

Meanwhile, for players, during almost all WvW resets
A player/account might have friends/guilds/followers/blocked that will load and show for player. - Yes. It does. Sometimes. After 10-60 minutes. Because all players are making that call to one single computer - the LaginServer.

(NO! THIS DO NOT RESOLVE ISSUE! WARNING! DO NOT DO THIS! besides delete all contacts-/guilds/blocked/friends... that heee... lp.. fudge. NOT - So. NO!)

As Server/Community Guild Leader - I can not wait to read up on - INGAME, on my INGAME screen - and/or a e-mail, at least 2 weeks ahead of rest, with current planned changes for next test.
What this next test gives all of us - to try out/test/report bugs/improve - we should all positivly respond back to (IMO ofc negative feedback is welcome aswell, as it is feedback)

Secondly, from the link you provided, what does this mean? programmer art and what is the final art? new maps?? 

The second trade-off is that the frontend of the system will be a little rough—using “programmer art,” as we call it. We’re going to hold off on final art and user experience polish until we’ve locked down the design of the feature. In other words, we’re going to focus on making sure the system solves the problem before we make it look nice.

Not all developers are proficient creating User Interface (UI, aka buttons, styles, font, colors, etc), that's usually a combination of UI specialists plus designers. 

 

They are going to release a less polished interface because they expect this UI to change significantly.  "Programmers art" is just jargon for UI made by regular developers instead of the specialists.  It won't look as good, but that allows them to modify it really quick, since design is not a blocker. 

 

Once the main features are a bit more stable, they are going to work on the "professional UI", similar to the rest of the game.

Has anyone else been experiencing the same bug as me where they're unable to set a WvW guild, either through the guild panel or the "WvW Restructuring - BETA" tab on the WvW panel? Clicking on "Set as WvW guild" in the guild panel does nothing (my guild remains unselected), and selecting my guild in the WvW beta panel also doesn't register (the guild automatically unchecks itself when I tab away or close the WvW panel).

Strangely, I'd had my wvw guild selected for a long time, and my selection had carried over between betas. However, when they opened up guild selection for the upcoming beta this week suddenly my wvw guild got unselected, and now I can't pick any wvw guilds.

I had that happen yesterday on one account, others were fine.  Issue cleared after a restart.

[KDR Requirements?] (just a few suggestions to the system)
I suggested a while back, the idea of more requirements to enter certain tiers. For example, KDR tier requirements to the 1up-1down system, so we don't get squishy ktrain only servers moving up into the top tier (only to get completely smashed next matchup), and also to help limit high KDR teams from dropping down. This could help ensure well rounded teams get better quality matchups, and to avoid the "no-challenge slaughter house" type matchups (alot of fight veterans think that is boring). This might even help promote team goals more clearly.

[Another Method]
While killing an enemy rewards ppt, perhaps it should also affect the other team score negatively. This could help pull down squishy ktrain only servers, so they can't move up if they just suck in combat (perhaps bypassing the need of a complicated KDR tier requirement in the first place.. if score balanced well enough *cough*).

[An older proposed system we (old BG warcouncil stuff) discussed a long time ago, suggested "higher PPT score gained from kills", but this doesn't really limit massive ktrain teams from gaining lots of objective cap ppt and moving up anyway].

The set Guild choice is also bugged for me, worse still, I actually thought it had applied because i went into the UI and ticked it the day before. It's only because someone mentioned it while playing that i double checked, now i cannot apply a tick either in Guild UI or WvW to set Guild, the moment you shut that tab your choice disappears.

yeah i think that's similar to the described problem i've noticed. talks with dev discord is probably yet going, but i'm concerned because we are getting close to the date of locked  signups or sth alike yet right?

edit: apparently the fix for one of my guildies for this problem was, you need to be in chat options "online"

There is! We've been looking into it and confirmed last night that this is a visual-only issue. If you select the guild using the "Set as WvW guild" button, it does register your selection even if it doesn't show up visually for you.

 

I also want to add some quick clarification for everyone on how selection works as we approach the start of beta: The guild you choose this Thursday, June 8, will define your team matchmaking for the two-week duration of the beta. You will be part of that team for both weeks, even when the matchup changes at the following reset. Leaving or changing your battle guild will not change your team during the beta. (This functions the same way that relinking does).
