I'm not sure if the new features were intentionally added by Anet or if they were part of the Invision update and haven't been disabled yet. I also lost the custom title I've had since the new forum was launched (Miniature Collector). I don't mind that it's gone, but I was surprised since it's been ignored for so long. I added it on the first day, when I assume Anet hadn't sorted out all the settings they wanted (we could briefly post pictures as well) and then lost the ability to remove or change it when that feature was disabled. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes, that has changed. The speech bubble is new I miss the old forums (any of them). These current ones are the worst they’ve had. Danikat.8537 Posted August 30, 2022 Share Posted August 30, 2022 There was an update to Invision Community (the software the forum uses) yesterday, but it doesn't mention adding the ability to see who is reading a section or posting. It is however marked as a beta update. So I can see three possibilities here: 1) Anet chose to enable this at the same time as installing the latest update 2) This is one of those things which has to be disabled each time you update because it's on by default and they forgot 3) The beta update has some bugs and one of them forces this to be enabled But whatever they case I don't think it's a big deal. Yes people can see who is reading the forum and when someone starts typing a reply, but that doesn't really mean anything. I've been on forums which had it before (including as a mod or admin) and I don't think it ever caused any issues beyond sometimes two people camping a topic waiting for the other person to reply so they could disagree. (Too often it was me and my husband, the other mods were happy when we started dating because then we'd both get a PM telling us to take it to MSN. 😄) But that can be done now, it just involves refreshing or waiting for the new reply notification. Also yes there's lots of features other forums have which this one doesn't, but I wouldn't say that's necessarily a bad thing. A forum which tried to install every possible feature would be a mess. Even if you skip the really specialist things like item crafting and trading systems. (No really, it exists, some role-playing forums use it.) There's some things I think this forum should have which are missing, like the ability to add pictures, but I don't think it's a bad thing that we don't have every possible feature and bit of info. 2 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There was a forum update going on for a short while, so seems intentional. Or maybe they'll turn it off soon.
