In the July 19 update, we are making adjustments to nearly every Mistlock Instability to reduce frustrating difficulty spikes, reward players for taking advantage of positive play opportunities, and increase synergy between instabilities across the board.

Really looking forward to this the most. Not going to expect much, but maybe... Maybe.

World Bosses cool.

The one thing I'm genuinely scared of is the conversion of Gaeting Crystals into Magnetite Shards.

The kitten they pulled with the fractal currency conversion back then left me with quite the trauma.

Are they just going to stealth increase prices for items formerly purchased with Gaeting Crystals because the rewards specific to PoF raids are now much easier to farm? I can honestly see it happen.

Now to buy that darn throne before the patch or to not buy it...

No need, there already is a thing, Kp.me. Most groups use it already anyways.

Kinda sad about deleting Gaeting Crystals, now after one bought or carried clear you can basicly farm escort to get all the rewards. Don't know how this encourage players to try to get into wings and bosses. Same situation like with dungeons.

Revisiting older content to give it some adjustment and polish to ensure veterans return to it and it continues to excite new players is a good step.

My concern would be these bosses being overtuned which may well dissaude new players.  These bosses are in starter zones for a reason.

Dont think so.

Maybe they are gonna go more similar to shatt rework.

Some phases, some damage to avoid maybe some cc.

I think that they are aiming to a more dinamic encounter than a piñata state the world bosses are today.

Other than for the parts where you have to shatter the crystals, isn’t the Shatterer still pretty much a piñata like it was before?

World Boss Improvements... You mean Fire Elemental won't go down in 30 seconds?  Looking forward to see how these four are improved!

Here's hoping they fixed the pre-events. 5 minute wait for a 30 second burn is boring.

Bring back the Fire Elemental of launch, with the massive amounts of death and carnage!

Sad that Plains of Ashford remains without a world boss though. Sad Siegemaster Lormar noises.

yes and no

it is very much mechanically different. Mobs were changed, it also actually can attack the players in the stacking position (you'll often find players in crystal there now), and the attacks in front now spread out more. There's also the breakbar and flight moment which didn't exist before, and the whole gliding/launchpad mechanic additions.

But despite the higher mechanical complexity of the foe, the fight is still very, very easy because it's technically balanced around lvl 55s and not lvl 80s, and the measures taken for that spot to the side of the boss was not enough to dissuade people from stacking there.

Yeah but everyone stacks and attacks its right claw just as they did before. The only thing that has changed is that players need to once or twice go and destroy the crystals.

Mechanics don’t mean anything if they can be ignored completely.

I  don’t believe that balancing in regards to level is a thing as everyone gets scaled down unless you’re actually referring to core specs vs elite specs instead.

TLDR: 3 more months, no new content planned.

Terrible news, very disappointing. Makes it very hard to convince guildies to come over from an unmentionable endless gear grind treadmill MMO behemoth if GW2 isn't going to have regular new story content updates.

Just a reminder ...

There was a 10 month new story content drought between the end of the Icebrood Saga and the launch of End of Dragons.

Living World 4 launched just ***TWO*** months after the release of Path of Fire

There is still no sign of any new story content for GW2 since EoD's release, no sign at all of Living World 6, till  the end of September and beyond.

I'd hate to see this game to end up like a SWTOR, a content starved MMO that had a mere 3 content updates over 28 months between expansions.

Harmonizing raid currencies is stupid. That's even less incentive to go into PoF Wings. Just buy a PoF Wing FC and you never have to go in there again and can just clear the easier HoT Wings. That's at least as stupid as dungeon currency harmonization.

I bet they have a small team working on it! However I do think they need to add the S1 story first before they are throwing in S6.
They do want the game finished before adding it to steam, which is understandable.

So is it just me that looks at the image and then see this:

  • July 19—Living World Season 1 Episode 3, World Boss Improvements, Raid Reward Changes, and Mistlock Instabilities Update
  • August 2—Festival of the Four Winds, Kralkatorrik Legendary Weapon Skin Variants, Balance Update
  • August 23—Guild Wars 2 10-Year Anniversary
  • September 13—Living World Season 1 Episode 4

They go from the first pictured update to the second update, to the fourth update, then back to the first update.

The third update is WvW and they cannot mention it in the text.

Because of course.

Edit: In fact looking closer they included PART of the third update clumped together with the second update - "balance update". WvW is left out. BECAUSE OF COURSE.

If someone has the patience to only do Escort to accumulate Magnetite Shards I'd say they deserve those rewards, considering Escort only gives 10 Magnetite. Besides, they are not changing the unlocks, you still need to kill the Raid bosses atleast once to be able to buy their rewards.
